I absolutely love my boat. When I first saw it I was grinning from ear to ear. I climbed in and it was a perfect fit.
John is a pleasure to work with. He is accommodating. He is willing to listen to input and make suggestions. I was part of the build process and definitely didn't feel like I was just another sale. What I really like about the boat: The storage in the Crucial BT is amazing. Everything has a place and I no longer have stuff all over the boat floor. The cockpit---Everything I need is in arms reach: bait well, electronics, vantage, tackle trays and rods. The leg room is amazing. The ride--I have been on many different bodies of water including Mille Lacs, Rainy River and Big Stone. My biggest waves to date have been 4-footers. The boat is dry and handles waves extremely well. It gets up on plane fast, and the ride is very smooth and comfortable. |

I've been fishing out of an Crucial BT for two seasons and it has exceeded all of my expectations. The boat is the total package for me. It handles big water, great storage, seat and deck configurations for different fishing applications and people in the boat. The accessories and electronics perfectly placed and in perfect working condition. The Backtroller Crucial BT has top of the line features from front to back. A huge added bonus is the AquaTraction flooring. It adds comfort when I'm sitting, standing or kneeling on it. It is an excellent nonskid material even under the worst fishing conditions. I don't worry about slipping in windy, icy, snowy conditions.

My fishing partner is very particular about boats and could not believe it.

I was fortunate to find what was likely the only used Backtroller Crucial BT in existence. I had been interested in the Backtroller for some time as I wanted to downsize from my 19 foot Yar-Craft.
I ran the boat this past summer on Lake Sakakawea, Lake Oahe and the Missouri River. Many times I was out on the lakes in high winds. The boat handles the rough stuff with ease. The size of the Crucial BT allows it to be a great river boat as well. The storage and fishability of the boat are outstanding. I was a little reluctant to go back to a tiller but I couldn't be happier with my choice. |
John's customer service is exceptional. Especially condsidering that I didn't buy the Crucial BT through him. I had been in contact with John when the used Crucial BT came available for sale. I notified John that I was buying the used one and he told me, "Welcome Aboard". He offered to pick up the boat from the selling dealer, look it over and deliver it to me. He transported the boat for me, saving me six hours of drive time.

After two years of fishing in our Backtroller Crucial BT my dad and I are loving every minute of performance and fishability. We put it to the test year round in some of the roughest conditions in the Midwest. It just continues to out perform all of our expectations every time out. I met John and the Crucial BT for the first time two years ago. I was considering a change to a tiller boat as several of my fishing buddies ran tillers and I felt it was the direction I'd go if I made a change. A tiller boat would be quite a shift from the Ranger Bass Boats I had been running for twenty years. The problem up until that point was that I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the boats I looked at or they were so expensive I couldn't justify giving up the great boat I had. Enter the Backtroller Crucial BT. The minute I laid eyes on it I was intrigued. The more I dug into the Crucial BT the more I wanted one.

I love quality and I love a bargain. Backtroller is both in my eyes. My boat is built with the best products and input that both money and experience can buy, and it shows.
I no longer cringe and grab my rain gear when I pull up to a boat landing and see three foot rollers or search for an alternative landing so I don't get beat to death. My first experience with really rough water was on Lake Osakis. Layup! Dry, smooth and solid. Now I get excited to see how well my Crucial BT will perform in the new challenges ahead of us. |
